I realize it might be old to hear, and it’s not like I have any control, but I’m really not ready to say “goodbye” to 2018! Time needs to sloooow down. With that said, this year has been filled with some of the very best and some of the very worst experiences of my life thus far. I always enjoy reflecting on the past twelve months – what I went through, what I learned, how I changed. I then try to apply these things to the year ahead. I wanted to share a post or two from each month that stood out to me as something very important. Please share with me in the comments anything from your year that I have reflected on as we prepare to usher in 2019!
I was able to enjoy an evening at Cruze Farm with Kaci then a hike at Max Patch with her and Drew that weekend! I ended it with an in-studio yoga class, and I recall feeling so calm and thankful by that Sunday evening.
This wasn’t a monumental weekend, but reading it reminds me of how much fun Matt and I can have just relaxing at home together with our babies! Mason is missed horribly by us all.
Date night in followed by my first participation with Mardi Growl downtown, and another fun yoga class.
This was the very best getaway, aside from our honeymoon, in our almost thirteen years together at this point! I wish we could go back and relive it.
The only thing that stands out to me in this month is losing Mason. I will never fully come to terms with his diagnosis or how short his life ended. He will forever be missed deeply.
Kaci and I entered our 30’s, but it was actually my very best birthday to date!
Matt and I traveled to Columbus, OH to meet Alexis, dine at Alchemy, and explore the area.
A Barre3 class with Kaci followed by a day at the lake house with Matt. <3
Matt and I spent an awesome day at our lake house, and I got to try out my new avocado float in honor of Mason!
Matt and I began looking for our first home in May, and we have yet to find it. But we will! That said, it brought us to the lowest point in our relationship, but we grew from it and have been stronger than ever.
I was able to join Kaci and Drew for a football tailgate on that Saturday. Then Kaci and I thoroughly enjoyed Cruze Farm’s autumn pumpkin festival that Sunday! It was such an awesome weekend.
Matt and I had the absolute most wonderful wedding anniversary celebration that was low-key but so special.
Kaci organized the most fun pumpkin carving, s’mores making, family autumn gathering at the lake house! We now fully intend to do this every year.
Matt and I attended the race group gathering and then went bowling with my work friends. Later that weekend, Kaci and I had a twin date at Java Juice Cafe (where I finally had my first acai bowl!), and we attended the Retropolitan Craft Fair.
Kaci’s annual tacky Christmas sweater party, the best one yet!
