Rain Showers, A Bridal Shower, & A Visit to Biltmore!

Welp, better late than never. I wanted to share my weekend recap with you all, and it sure was a heart-warming, enjoyable one!

Friday

I stared my Friday with thawed fruit topped with cottage cheese with lemon curd, Quaker Oatmeal Squares, walnuts, and almond butter.

After a lovely day and a shopping trip to Kroger, I put together a tasty dinner. Dr. Praeger’s newest protein Sweet Heat beet burger with tzatziki, sautéed zucchini, roasted acorn squash and carrots, and sweet potato chips. So many flavors and colors!

img_4483

We watched a few episodes of The Office, and I noshed on a chopped apple, yogurt, pistachios, and chocolate chips. Hit. The. Spot.

Saturday

Has anyone seen or tried this new Almond Breeze drink? It’s amazing!

img_4486

I poured it over shredded wheat, Multigrain Cheerios, raisins, and cinnamon in a nearly empty pb jar.

img_4487

Barre3 has absolutely been killing it! Their online videos give me so much joy.

I then got ready to head to one of my best friend’s bridal showers! ON jumpsuit, new loafers, and a boho headband to complete mah look.

The decorations were so lovely!

Veggies in ranch.

Banana pudding. Mmmm

img_4498

They had a really nice sandwich bar, pita chips, hummus, pickles, fruit, and berry-infused water.

The gorgeous bride-to-be!

I am so very happy for Trissa!!! She is going to be one stunning bride.

Kaci so wishes she could attend, and she sure was missed! She and Drew had a wedding to attend, but she was there in spirit. Trissa, Randi, and Callie are sisters. Aren’t they just so pretty?

Their parents have a new kitty who used to be stray. She was adorable!! I wanted to smuggle her away in my purse. 😉

Even though it was late, I went out to check on our lake house since the party was about 30 minutes away. Thankfully, despite all the rain, she looked spiffy and well. Matt is such a wonderful husband! I sure married an amazing one. He made our dinner since I got home late. I bought a jarred Marsala simmer sauce from Aldi, and he made it and served over cauliflower rice. I put together a quick salad, and dinner was served!

img_4518

Awwwww, melt my heart!

img_4519

I got settled in and enjoyed yogurt, Oatmeal Squares, almond butter, and a Hershey’s kiss.

Sunday

Mmmm mmm mmm, this bowl of oatmeal was just what I was craving! Instant Ancient Grains Oatmeal made with milk and a pinch of salt then topped with thawed fruit, cottage cheese, Oatmeal Squares, and pb drizzle.

img_4529

We got a late start (thanks, in part, to the stupid time change), but all turned out well! One of my wonderful friends gave me her two free Biltmore passes, so we took a day trip to one of our favorite cities. It’s hard to believe we were last there almost 2.5 years ago on our honeymoon.

I had to document it with a SnapChat shot…or two.

She was looking mighty gorgeous! Traffic was a nightmare, and it took us over an hour to move 0.3 miles, but it was sooo worth it.

img_4541

It took us several selfie attempts, and Matt accidentally took a rather nice portrait photo. Ahaha

img_4548

Score!

img_4550

First stop was a late lunch at The Stable. I chose their bean beet burger with tomato aioli and a salad. It was spectacular!

img_4551

img_4552

Matt had the bbq platter, which was also amazing. We thought about it later that his gf bread was probably grilled on a contaminated grill. Sigh. But he felt great afterwards.

img_4554

If you don’t take a bathroom selfie, are you really a millennial? Lolz. Keeping myself young and hip.

img_4555

I just love the shots that Matt captures! I think this turned out fun. I mean, check out that sky.

Latte with a view.

The green houses were stunning! Unfortunately, the tulips hadn’t bloomed yet. But it was still a most perfect day.

Daw. My forever adventure buddy. <3

I was grateful a sweet person agreed to take our photo. We loved this flower wall.

img_4572

I asked my friends on Facebook what this was, and I was told it is a jade vine. We both absolutely love it!!

The turquoise is just magnificent and even more so in person.

Strike a pose! Matt said I didn’t look natural. Lol, I didn’t care. I thought this door made for a fun photo.

img_4591

We picked up this gf raspberry mini bundt cake at the cafe when I got my latte.

img_4592

We split it, and I had my half with Greek yogurt, an “adorb” orange, almond butter, and pepitas. It was very soft and flavorful!

img_4593

Monday

After a pretty good night’s sleep, I made quite an epic breakfast this morning. Morning Star Farms burger over wilted spinach, topped with shredded cheddar, and then a sunny side up egg. “Adorb” orange and avocado.

img_4597

With pepper and hot sauce. I highly recommend this combo!

img_4598

I purchased this vintage framed watercolor owl from Marigold Curated, and I could not be more pleased with it! The design is so perfect. I added it to my Barre3 space and just love it so much.

img_4605

I moved my photo holder next to our vanity, and I love how it balances my jewelry holder.

Here’s to wishing you all the best week ahead!

  1. Lemon curd AND oat squares AND almond butter?!?! Sign me up!! I am drooling over everything, but whatttt almond breeze with bananas?! Almond breeze is my go-to milk, but I haven’t seen this yet! I’ve gotta keep an eye out because just the sound of it is making me drooool. I adore your bridal shower outfit & what a fun little party! Also, I love the name Trissa.. I may need to save that for the baby name bank. She is so cute too! I am in awe of your Biltmore trip- wowww picture after picture!! Thank you for sharing, Kori! So much fun to read 🙂

    1. 😄 I thought you may love the sound of that breakfast combo too! The milk is fantastic!!

Thank you sooo much for saying that! For a sec I wondered if I was underdressed, but I love that black jumpsuit. Trissa’s name is beautiful! Her middle name is Cheyenne. I think it’s so unique & wonderful.

I seriously thought of you as I took my flower shots! I’m really grateful for my iPhone camera. It does a pretty awesome job for a phone. Thanks for appreciating my post!

      1. Oh my gosh, not underdressed at all- it was on poiiiint!

Awww!! The Iphone camera is just ahmazyzin’! I have a DSLR I got for graduation but I haven’t even learned to use it because the quality of the iphone is so dang good. I should probably look at selling or something.. hmmm. Hope you are having a great Monday!! (or did , since it’s 1030 there.. haha). xo

        1. Thank you so much!!!

Gosh it is! My stepmom bought be a Canon point-&-shoot years ago, & I never really excelled at using it. Then once I got an iPhone, I didn’t use it anymore. 🤭 Monday was great! Started out rough but in a funny gotta-laugh-at-yourself sort of way then was fabulous. Hope you’re well!!
